It's not as powerful as it used to be, perhaps the scaling is wrong?
A fully powered throw doesn't gain the stupid distance and power it could before the refactor.

This should be fixed now by "- Blood: Fix bad zvel inside `playerFireThing()` where slope factor was lost." in refactoring6.
