Under the section called "How To Load The File".--------------------------------------- Liquid Texture Pack V7.0 Details ---------------------------------------
- Moved default map decoration lumps from the main "LTP.pk3" file,
to the "Starter Files.pk3" and "LTP Demo Map.pk3".
This helps make the Liquid Texture Pack more compatible with custom maps,
that use their own custom things (objects / monsters) with the same tag ID number.- Lowered default static reflection texture brightness.
- Small optimizations to ACS and Zscripts.
You are free to use this in your own single map / Project using custom maps / game that is to be shared with the public,
- A complete rebuild from LTP V6.8 that has taken over 2.5 years to put together.
- Compatible for DOOM 1, DOOM 2, Plutonia and TNT
- The texture pack is only supported for GZDoom 4.14.0 or higher.
- Uses a parallax effect for waves, also includes a parallax 3d depth effect for the water and toxic type shaders. (helps gives the liquid’s a sense of depth when applied to solid surfaces)
- Static reflections now use Equirectangular textures (360 texture).
- Waterfall and flat water material shader can support up to 20 static reflection textures,(uses a texture called a “Reflection Map” to display the reflection texture of choice).
- Experimental real time camera reflections, uses a 2nd camera that follows the player around the map,
Has a performance mode that you can turn on/off in the “Liquid Texture Pack options” menu (This is for flat surfaces only, not comparable to Screen Space Reflections).- Waterfall / Toxicfall / Lavafall shaders support a fall mask texture, (controls the top layer amount such as foam / slime / cold magma by using a grey scale color texture).
- Shaders now support flow map textures to create animated flowing river’s for water / toxic / lava materials, (Red / Green color channels control flow direction and strength, Blue channel color controls the top layer amount).
- Mappers now have access to adjust the shader values in GLDEFS to change the animation look that they are after, (Shaders are also designed to easily change the material color to suit the maps environment).
- Now has footstep sounds based on the terrain type that the player is walking on,Also has underwater swimming sounds.
- Comes with ambient sounds that you can place in your map to bring water falls / rivers to life.
- Shader based animations for map decoration objects that you can place in your own custom map,(such as water fall splashes / smoke / water fall flat sprites for base foam etc, can be toggled on / off in menu to save performance if needed.
- Includes a basic caustic shader that can be applied to duplicated textures that are placed underwater,(shader also supports parallax map and PBR - Specular workflow with GZDoom’s new gloss map feature).
- Comes with starter files to help get you started with using the Liquid Texture Pack for your own custom maps / projects,(Also includes demo maps that use the starter files to help show the basics).
- Comes with written tutorials and pictures on how to use the Liquid Texture Pack, and also how to make flow map textures from scratch using GIMP image editor.
- Comes with a separate add on terrain file for the default DOOM textures to spawn splashes etc. (this is done as some mods have their own terrain splashes which add game play mechanics).
- Comes with a map editing menu .pk3 file that allows the user to capture the environment as 6 textures, that can then be used for creating sky boxes or to create Equirectangular textures for static reflections. Also includes useful tools like a terrain checker script that displays the terrain type,that the player is walking on for debugging.
- Comes with a new demo map filled with monsters to play against with different difficulties.
(First time play through will have “shader pre-cache stutters”, 2nd time play through will be nice and smooth. Currently as of this release GZDoom doesn’t pre-cache shaders before the level starts, it does them as you play)- This texture pack is not compatible with subtractive dynamic lighting and sectors that reduce the color saturation level.
- Has been designed and tested with single player only.
as this is a resource file for the community to use and help bring better looking visuals to everyone’s maps.
