About the news forum - how do you make it show up on the main page? I only know html, and I've looked around for some sort of downloadable thing, but to no avail. So does anyone know, or is whoever wrote the news script for zdoom.org got it available for use?

Thanks muchly.

He's asking how Randy set things up so that anything posted into the News forum automagically gets posted to the news page.

As for saving the page, that won't do much good as the site is using PHP to dynamically create the pages. The actual scripts doing the work are stored on the server and can't be directly accessed by us peons.

No doubt there is info on the PHPBB site, though.

Probably with a Cron Job who reads the MySQL database.
Or a hook in post.php (or whatever it is called), that if the post is going
into the News forum, call the script that would otherwise been called by cron.

Thank you (nearly) everyone, but I think I have found the answer. It's called Slash News Mod and it's for PHPBB. It may not be what Randy uses but it works the same way.

I use phpBB Fetch Posts. It looks like it has been updated since I picked it up and is now phpBB Fetch All.
