GzDoom 4.1.2 Weird Audio issues

Post by UnbornDecay25 »

Transitioning from 3.7.whatever I had, I installed the latest version of Gz Doom only to have a few issues. Most I figured out on my own, but I seem to have issues with the sound. For example, if I pick up a lot of items or have my guns firing for long enough, the music will actually dim and wait for about 3 seconds before returning to full volume. Also the sounds sound a little... flat, I dont know how else to describe it. I'll take turning off the music dimming myself.

For the record I am using FluidSynth as my playback device

It sounds like your sounds are being played through a compressor. All I can suggest is you check your operating system audio settings, make sure things like "Loudness Equalization" are turned off.

I ran into another issue, the fact that "Randomnized Pitches" seems to be on and "Underwater Reverb" seems to be off, when both those settings are set to their opposites in the menu
