Need help fixing severe FPS issues in my current mod setup
So I started playing Hell Revealed and I had been having less than perfect performance thus far, but I just made it to map09 and the fps drops are horrendous. The game runs from 3 to 10 fps here for some reason. I'm fairly sure my system isn't the issue. I can run a game like Dishonored at a smooth 60 fps.
For some reason, whenever I pause the game the FPS sort of resets itself and it goes back up in FPS. That isn't helping with this map, though.
I've tried everything I can think of to fix this issue. Changing any settings seems to have 0 impact on this stage. Same result every time.
The mods i'm running are:
DoomRLA
DamNums
Top HP Bars
Hell Revealed
Can anyone assist me with this? it's driving me crazy and I've looked everywhere for a fix.

Here are my specs:
Intel i7-4710HQ CPU 2.50 GHz
Nvidia Geforce GTX 850M / Intel 4600
MSI motherboard
8GB RAM
I'm pretty inept when it comes to specs but i hope that will suffice.

Have you narrowed down which one of the mods the problem is? Leave them out one by one to see if that helps.

The game refuses to load my save file when i remove any of the mods. Says there is a fatal error. Can't tell what the error is exactly.Graf Zahl wrote:Have you narrowed down which one of the mods the problem is? Leave them out one by one to see if that helps.
Made an actual account, disregard the name difference.

Ok. To get an idea what's happening, do the following:
Open the console.
Type "stat think"
Type "stat rendertimes"
load the savegame
make a screenshot.
Post the screenshot here.
That will have some statistics info to narrow down the problem.

The main problem is clearly the think time here. It looks like one of the mods is leaving a lot of garbage behind.
Let's do another test.
Again, first open the console
Type "logfile log.txt"
Type "profilethinkers +t"
Close the console, wait for a moment, then quit the game and post the log.txt file that just got created.

Re: Need help fixing severe FPS issues in my current mod set
It sort of seems as if it's the HP bars, going by that list. If you don't already have it set this way, check the mod's settings menu and enable the setting that hides the bars for enemies at full health.

There wasn't a setting for that. Only settings for scale, vertical offset, "stealth" and "full bright". I still disabled the latter two but it didn't make a difference in performance.
