Hello ZDoom forum members,
This is my first ever discussion thread on this website. So I installed the 32-Bit Vintage version of GZDoom version 3.7.2 on my Windows 10 PC and I have been suffering this issue for quite a while. For example: whenever I start playing The Ultimate Doom and I finish the first level of any episode, or if I switch to another while playing that level, or if I try playing the game on a window, GZDoom decides to crash for some reason. I have no idea why this is happening and if there is something on my PC that is causing this to happen. I have added two crash logs on this post to show you all how my game crashes. I will also include my PC information and specs to see what could be the issue. Please help me on this, as I want to fix this as soon as possible so I can continue murdering demons, finding secrets, and trying out many community made wads, megawads, and total conversions.
Here are my PC specs:
Processor: Intel(R) Core(TM) i5-2400 CPU @ 3.10GHz 3.10GHz
Installed RAM: 4.00 (3.88 GB usable)
System Type: 64-bit operating system, x64-based processor
Chip type: Intel(R) HD Graphics Family
DAC Type: Internal
Windows Specs:
Edition: Windows 10 Pro
Version: 1809

Contrary to popular belief, we are not all-knowing-all-seeing magical beings!
If you want help you're going to have to provide lots of info. Like what is your hardware, what is your operating system, what version of GZDoom/LZDoom/whatever you're using, what mods you're loading, how you're loading it, what you've already tried for fixing the problem, and anything else that is even remotely relevant to the problem.
We can't magically figure out what it is if you're going to be vague, and if we feel like you're just wasting our time with guessing games we will act like that's what you're really doing and won't help you.

What I'm able to understand of crash reports tells me it's crashing in your video driver. Given how relatively recent your CPU is, and the fact that you're already running the vintage build, your system should be able to handle GZDoom just fine. I'd suggest seeing if you can update your video drivers, however you need to do so.

Technically Sandy Bridge's iGPU isn't supported on Windows 10. The only driver available is the one that Microsoft ships.wildweasel wrote:I'd suggest seeing if you can update your video drivers, however you need to do so.

It's a known problem with some intel integrated graphics, try LZDoom instead (you'd need to select the GL renderer since software is the default).
