A set of weapon sprites pulled from the community and mixed with Super Spy (SNK, NeoGeo) sprites and a bit action movie flavour. It's just a small side project I'm working on - but it has white pigeons and bullet time (thanks to Blue Shadow for his timefreeze-with-sound Zscript)! :D

I seperated the demo map, so it's an extra pk3 to load. I did this because I added a basic custom monster: The Agent (sprites originally by HorrorMovieGuy). Hint: You need to be "faster" then an Agent to defeat him ;)

this looks cool on so many levels. and i love that altfire for the mac-10 too... rarely, it even spawns a pigeon!

for those who don't know, Roy Heart is the name of the Protagonist of The Super Spy.

I see we have a connaisseur here :D Thanks for the kind words! :)

Melee combat will have the combo/special system I have prepared - still need to adapt it for the available animation frames though. Of course there shall be custom ammo types etc. Well it's just the beginning really... if you have suggestions/feedback, just shoot em. Maybe akimbo uzis? :wink:

Feel free to use the Akimbo uzis from Aracnocide (you'll have to glove them, though). This seems promising.

If you're talking sprite-wise, thanks, but I think it can be done with the Super Spy assets ;)

Code-wise, I miiight look your stuff up, or Trailblazers :D Haven't done akimbo-on-second-pickup yet... on the other hand, where's the fun in that without trying to solve it myself? ^^ Thanks anyways for your support :)

I have a small update...

Change Log:
* Melee got a few new animation frames for holding primary fire and secondary fire - not finished yet tough
* Pistol has unlimited ammo, 'cause every action hero needs a basic weapon
* Pistol allows you to dodge move if you press back and alt-fire while strafing
* Mac10 now upgrades to akimbo when picking up a second one
* No reloading! Action heroes never reload!

New version ready for testing (I'd call it the first viable Alpha). Updated the OP too. :)

Change Log:
* Bugfixes and tweaking
* Every weapon except the shotgun has an alt-fire now (subject to change via suggestions/testing/coolness factor)
* Some basic custom ammo added
* Added a Katana 'cause why the fuck not?

What do you guys think? Any replacement ideas for the rest of the Doom weapons?

Ok guys and gals, I would have liked to give you a last weekend update, but I have to get up early tomorrow. So it'll be until next weekend. In the meantime, if you found some time to give it a quick test run and me some feedback, I'd be really happy. Also, feel free to tinker with it. It's free for all, but please credit me where due - as I still owe a credits list, mind you (I promise, I'll find the time to gather them :) ). @GAA1992: Credit already to you, your state jumps gave me the hint on how to achieve the pickup :D Thanks a bunch :) Saved me a lot of time, thus resulted in the Katana ^^

Does the Katana not look a bit short?

Anyway, are there good urban-themed mapsets out there? While cool, the contemporary arsenal feels rather out of place in Doom's default futuristic and hellish settings.

Yeah, the Katana is too short, I'll try to get it right for the next update. Regarding your critique: True. For now, it's just a weapon mod based on an old SNK game mixed with some contemporary action movie tropes. I don't know where to go with it yet, another reason to have it open source ;) I don't know too much about the map/wad catalog. Maybe the community can help here?

The Uzi/Mac10 pickup. First time pickup = single gun, second pickup = ammo plus second/akimbo gun :)

I was just talking about The Super Spy with GAA1992 about how cool would it be if someone ported it to ZDoom or something, but then he told me that was already someone on it. What a coincidence, because if I have told him about that a few days earlier, it would be a "new" idea.

anyway, I like what you've done so far. its pretty fast paced and I like the way the weapons work. I made a video about it so people can get to know it and motivate you to keep going on this project.
