Agreed.
A stopwatch would make it that much easier to do time trials, etc. and would also be useful for testing out (more acurately than the automap) the fastest route to a certain point in a map. Another plus would be the ability to see other players' stopwatches in multiplayer play.
But a regular stopwatch has gotten me this far, so I don't suppose it's very vital.
