I dunno... they could say that MC is stealing the marketshare of Doom 16 buyers that don't have computers powerful enough to play Doom 16. (Although even I have to say that would be counterintuitive since within 5-10 years most people should have computers powerful enough to play Doom 16. I know I'm going to buy Doom 16 when I get a proper upgrade. Or an xbox or a playstation.)

Not that this mod is bad, by any means, but the real deal is different than this.

I don't think they would serve a C&D to the creators of this D4D right after giving them a shoutout on Twitter. Sounds like it would spell bad news bears for Bethesda.

That being said, the attention span of the internet is notoriously short. Whatever you do, do NOT let Bethesda find out that D4D is a superior competitor to Doom 4 that improves upon it in every possible way.

I know Bethesda isn't Gearbox, and at any rate Bethesda has made frivolous lawsuits before. It's the same thing with all major corporations - just because they act all friendly now doesn't mean that's how they stay. For some reason or another they frequently get that "lawsuit bug" in their pants and figure taking you to court will get them more money. I'm not saying that's what will happen here - I am just saying it happens frequently enough - and it's why I hate major corporations.

But in the USA, frivolous lawsuits are considered a part of what we are. Without that, what would we be? Russia?

Unlike those psychos, we don't have our citizens "prepare" for a nuclear war. Most of our citizens know that the best response is to just lie down, close their eyes, and wait for death.

And our megawads for Doom are of better quality.

The guns in this mod are way more different than guns in doom 2016 so you can't give it a possibility that this mod could get the developers in shit. Issue a C&D over a mod of a game (said mod containing features that have been in the industry for nearly 20 years) to a company that owns the rights to the game he's modding, a mod that uses tons of code made by other people with resources ripped from other games and drawn by other artists, some even from other games owned by the company he's C&D'ing.
