I give up.
I can't play the latest GZDoom on Mac (Yeah, yeah, inb4 macfag) because any time I try to load a mod, it stutters, crashes, or freezes and is otherwise unplayable after about 30 seconds. I've posted on the drdteam forums a couple times, and the only responses I get are from devs that haven't touched the mac version. Up until _mental_ stopped hosting the port on his github, I never had a problem. What happened?
GZDoom Mac has issues... At least for me.

I really would appreciate it if no one got into an argument over anyone's personal choice of operating system. Mac is a perfectly solid platform which, despite its flaws and less-than-ideal user interface, does what it does and does it well.Wivicer wrote: (Yeah, yeah, inb4 macfag)
That being said, if you want to help this guy out, his thread is over at DRD Team here -> http://forum.drdteam.org/viewtopic.php?f=199&t=7242
And even more info here -> http://forum.drdteam.org/viewtopic.php?f=200&t=7237
Thank you!

It really shouldn't be necessary here, I'd hope.Wivicer wrote:I just wanted to pre-empt any of that bs.
Having read your problem, I wonder if you're running out of video RAM? If you play with multi sampling turned up really high, or use the high quality graphics filters, those can bump up your VRAM usage a lot more than you might expect, and it's possible that Mac OS's OpenGL handler isn't actually telling you that it had to kill the process due to using too much memory.
If you're thinking "that's ridiculous" - it isn't necessarily. I have a 1 gig video card and actually had GZDoom kill itself several times for that reason before I realized I had left multi sampling set to 32x.

I don't have multisampling OR HQ filters turned on, so I don't think that's the issue. Actually, I think it might be that I had automatic graphics switching off... I turned it back on and boom, no problems.
I've gotten flak for it before. Just wanted to be sure.wildweasel wrote: It really shouldn't be necessary here, I'd hope.
