I HATE WINDOWS 10
I was out during the week and forgot my laptop was running, and returned home to find - to my shock and horror - that windows 10 was installed.
Now Gzdoom Builder runs slower than it did previously under Windows 8: fuck Microsoft.

Show them by going back even further to the best Windows, Windows 7! Which still has the classic native theme.

Re: I HATE WINDOWS 10
maybe check if there's an updated version of GDZB that works better with Windows 10? or update your video-drivers, that seems to be a culprit when upgrading. if you really hate it though, you can always revert back to Windows 8, the option is there.

Pretty much this.Viscra Maelstrom wrote:maybe check if there's an updated version of GDZB that works better with Windows 10? or update your video-drivers, that seems to be a culprit when upgrading. if you really hate it though, you can always revert back to Windows 8, the option is there.
All the rants and anger in the world isn't going to redeem Windows 10, but you can always uninstall it. I would update your video drivers first though, and try to make sure that it's not at least livable before making the final decision to go back.

Re: I HATE WINDOWS 10
funt! thats a cow-son and a half! my laptop is a little dated and is happy on seven and just last week proclaimed that I had authorized (!!!???!!! I had done no such thing, how is that legal?)an upgrade to 10 and it was going to start in ten minutes. obviously I hit the fuck-you button as fast as possible and postponed the update indefinitely. they say your machine is capable of running it but fail to mention how slow it may or may not be. hell a 386 can run 95 but I wouldn't advise it. its all a ploy for idiots to phone microsoft and say "please mr microsoft man, my machine is slow" and mr microsoft's answer is to sell you a load of software and hardware you had no intention, inclination or even funds to purchase in the first place. I'd still be running xp if I had it my way...

Re: I HATE WINDOWS 10
Oh the irony!
The planned for Win 10 to be the solution to all their problems but then mishandled it in a way that makes many users just ignore it. I guess some people over there have yet to learn a few lessons in economics, in this case: If you have a product that either makes or breaks your future, you do everything you can to make it as good as possible, and not stuff it with anti-features that may turn off users.
And now that the users have voted with their feet it's down to forced upgrades? Do these idiots ever learn? Wanna bet that everyone who can afford it will switch to another OS at the earliest possible convenience? Thank god I have Windows 8.1 Professional, so these 'free' upgrades won't bother me ever. Windows 10 is something I may need to bother with on my next computer, but considering how well this one still works after 4 years, that'd require a major disaster to happen first.

Re: I HATE WINDOWS 10
i dunno, Windows 10 worked pretty flawlessly on my old and new desktop for me, and the old one was upgraded from 7. but my laptop experienced a lot of problems on 10, so i reverted on there. i guess if you upgrade from a custom-built desktop or install it clean onto a new system, it works best. i haven't been bothered to upgrade here since turning off the notifs is as easy as not making the system install a specific update; though i admit, not your average joe would probably think of doing that.

Re: I HATE WINDOWS 10
You know, Windows Vista also worked fine on MOST computers it was installed on, yet the problems it caused on the rest were enough to damage its reputation beyond repair.Viscra Maelstrom wrote:i dunno, Windows 10 worked pretty flawlessly on my old and new desktop for me,
And I think among people who value some bit of system security and privacy, the reputation of Win10 is just as bad. I consider the Home version with its forced spyware settings unusable.
No idea how the other ones are, but since my current system is rock-solid with Win 8.1 I see absolutely no reason to upgrade. I don't use 'modern' apps, so what would I gain by upgrading?

Re: I HATE WINDOWS 10
That's the reason I give up to use my chance for free upgrade to Win10. Win7 just enough for me. It just not worth for me to upgrade and I don't really like the whole "Mobile-like-of-Windows" idea when I still using desktop system...if I want use mobile devices, why not just use Android OS?maseter wrote:Show them by going back even further to the best Windows, Windows 7! Re: I HATE WINDOWS 10
As long as it hasn't been more than 30 days, I believe you can still go back, though. You know you have this option if you open Windows Explorer and navigate to your root C: Drive (as applicable) and if next to your Windows folder, you have a Windows.old folder, you're a decent candidate for reversal.
If you do have that Windows.old folder, you can undo it. It's easier if you haven't done much with it since the apocalypse occurred, but at least there's still a chance. It'd help if you could make an image of your system with Macrium Reflect or Acronis TrueImage or any program like that, just in case something goes wrong, (It happens sometimes) but otherwise, it'll only take a few hours to revert.
Here's a guide.
Don't wait to do this though. The Windows.old folder deletes itself after 30 days. Once you've downgraded, acquire the GWX Control Panel and turn off the Win10 related options.

Re: I HATE WINDOWS 10
I had to tell my computer straight that I wanted my reserve copy cancelled when it warned me it would try and do it overnight. If it did, I don't think I'd be able to reverse it! That option's reserved for 8 Pro users, right?
