Long story short, Eduke32 developers got a license to release an Android version. The ownership of Duke Nukem 3D went go Gearbox. Of course that doesn't affect the license for the Android version. But Gearbox was not aware of their license, and did not like it. So they decided it's not valid, under the terms that they don't like it.
I mean, Gearbox have done some shitty things in the past (the alleged mismanagement of funds from Aliens: Colonial Marines) and I'd be more than willing to maintain my "Fuck Gearbox" attitude, but yeah, let's see if we can't find a source...because I can't track any down from cursory searching.
I must be out of the know so what is HTTKC? If it's anything to do with EDuke32 itself, then I fail to see how Gearbox has a case. They aren't distributing the game or anything like that, if it's just another way to play Duke 3D but you yourself still have to get the game, I'm not seeing much water-holding going on for Gearbox in this matter.
