Hello, I've been around the Doom community for ages back checking in from time to time. I rarely post, and with that being said, forgot what my former username's email/password is/was since I've lost it.

I'm posting here to request does anybody have a standalone flashlight (weapon) wad/pk3 so I can just load it to play a pwad that I think is so dark that I say a flashlight would be in order.

I tried Googling and searching Doom source port forums but found them not working or really suck.

Specifically, I'm looking for the simple Doom flashlight (weapon, not class based) that is always on while selected without pressing a fire key and can attack by pressing primary fire (see attached pictures.)

Note: I'm sure that flashlight weapon exists somewhere as a standalone. The flashlight in the screenshot is already a full fledged mod which I've seen the same in more than a few mods, so that's why I know it has got to exist standalone (I'm too stupid to mod it out myself. )

Asking on the "Mod Download Broken? Request Reuploads Here" thread does not really apply. I do not know specifically what mods have them, however, I do have a couple pk3/wads including the one in picture if anyone just wants to have them and extract the flashlight out, perhaps I can upload them here (and they are not mine, so I will credit the original author.)

I have already tried the flashlight at realm667 but it appears you have to mod it in with the ability to select it in game and/or a separate wad (as stated I do not know how to do this, I tried using Slade but I'm too dumb) and it only works on GZDoom including because it requires DECORATE. Bottom line, it doesn't work for me and is not what I'm looking for anyways.

Yes I believe you swear you have seen this flashlight some years ago, because it is a simple flashlight weapon for ZDoom since the beginning years of ZDoom.

No, that wouldn't be it since it is a pwad that creates darkness which is what I don't need (otherwise it may as well be pitch black) and its based on player class (not individual weapon) which would cause strange effects when loaded with another pwad - I said from the beginning no class based please.

hmmm there's a long time that I wanted to make a thread like "what're the best flashlight wads out there?"
I think, this is something similar, I like it

The flashlight in the pictures would be the best flashlight because it's so freaking simple. Anything else would be for other wads with their own special weapons and monsters.

There was nothing in the download you gave me. I tried summon flashlight, give flashlight, give all, idkfa and there was no flashlight nor anything else.

I'll try linking/posting in Broken thread and see what happens.

Because the actor name is SolarFlashlight and it does not have a weapon slot assigned, since it was a Realm667 submission. You'll need to modify it, or bind a key to "use SolarFlashlight."

Ok that's an interesting flashlight wildweasel, though not the one I'm looking for but still interesting.

Also how do I bind a key to "use SolarFlashlight"? I summoned and picked up the SolarFlashlight, tried the console command "BIND B USE SOLARFLASHLIGHT" and wasn't able to select the darn flashlight! I was only able to use it once picked up but once I pick up/select another weapon, wasn't able to select the flashlight again.

Probably easier would be to modify the DECORATE [wiki]Weapon_properties[/wiki] to include Weapon.SlotNumber value set to zero or something. Then you can summon or give it, and it'll sit on the slot you assigned for selection.

As I've said from the getgo, I do NOT know how to mod/modify. The SolarFlashlight isn't exactly what I'm looking for anyhow.
