What's up with IMGUR?
People have been saying stuff about IMGUR being weird with thumbnails lately, but it's been the same for me for about 2 years. Am I missing something?

Re: What's up with IMGUR?
They changed the way you could get thumbnails. You used to be able to get the image links to the small, large, and so on thumbnails right from the uploaded image. Now you can't. You now have to put "m" for medium, "l" for large, "s" for small, or "t" at the very end of the image file name.

If that is the problem, then they are complaining for nothing because the thumbnail thing is still there:

As someone that whacks images in by right-clicking on them and copying the image location and then manually writing upNevander wrote:They changed the way you could get thumbnails. and often manually editing the resulting link (thanks to dropbox public links retaining the folder structure, i.e. https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/631 ... d/Xeno.gif https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/631 ... vySuit.gif
I'm not really seeing what the big idea is. o_O

The easy-to-use buttons are not there for me:

Which rendered my little tutorial in the Community Rules mostly moot. The thumbnails still function, but it's a lot less idiot-proof now.

Somehow you are still able to use the old version of their site that gives you the options.Zanieon wrote:If that is the problem, then they are complaining for nothing because the thumbnail thing is still there
Same here. I don't know why they changed it or why it's not changing for some people. Ugh... I hate change.wildweasel wrote:The easy-to-use buttons are not there for me:

Zanieon: those buttons are gone for me, have been gone for a few months now (since last year).

I do
(direct link url)][ img] (direct link url with the letter "l","m" or "s" added to the file name)[/img]
manually but I really do miss the buttons on the site doing it for me. Should probably look for a greasemonkey script or something.
Wonder why they changed it, and why it doesn't seem to be changed for everyone?

My best guess is that it has something to do with our browsers.
Pale Moon (pretty old Firefox) for me.

Re: What's up with IMGUR?
Imgur created two image viewing modes for your images, And yes it is confusing.
Pop-up mode when you click on an image in the list which shows "all" your images :

When opening images in a new tab, or in an album :

But what else could you expect from a place which takes pride in showcasing those horrible meme like images.

*eats popcorn* I browse imgur's User-Sub daily. They did an update last night it seems as there were quite a lot of "give us our profile back". I tried to access mine last night, but no luck.
