Spoiler:
As some of you may recall, Desire Driven, or in this case known as Desire Driven Doom (DDD), has appeared here and there on the forum some time ago. Based on the RPG Maker game Desire Driven, by the Sax Masters, DDD was aimed to be an exact port of the original to the GZDoom engine. A very early section of it's code was released as a resource some time back, as well as an early demo to see it in play. Now that some time has passed, a good portion of the game has been ported, but the game has gathered dust on my hard drive, the engine for this being the basis of more ORIGINAL pursuits. Feeling it unfair to keep this to myself any further, DDD is now available to you all.

Being based on an RPG Maker game, and free from the standard tropes of Doom, DDD offers a brand-new experience to the ZDoom family of wads.

Features:
- Faithful and lovingly recreated port of the original RPG Maker game, Desire Driven, a cinematic retelling of Touhou through the eyes of Homestuck!
- Wonderful sprite work and graphics, provided with permission from the original Desire Driven game files, by the Sax Masters themselves!
- Direct access to the original game's code allowed for the most accurate port of the details and nuances of the original game, providing a cinematic experience not yet seen to Doom!
- The world of Desire Driven has been recreated and perfectly adapted to the world of 3-D!
- Full diallogue script up to Scene 5 from the original, along with additional proof-reading and new lines, providing over 1700 lines of written script!
- Unique dialogue system never before seen in Doom!
- Whether you love Touhou, Homestuck, or just want to see the never-before in Doom, you MUST experience this!

NOTE:
- This is a GZDoom mod only.
- Additionally, Sprite Clipping should be set to "NEVER."
- No additional keys need to be bound.
- Saving is not necessary in the game. Saving is done automatically between scenes and the game remembers your place when you return.
- The game displays letterboxing on 16:9 and 5:4 resolutions, to preserve the games original aspect ratio.
- Beyond the use of Jimmy's fonts, no graphics should be used elsewhere from this game. They are the sole-property of the Sax Masters.
- The coding is available for public use, but any coding should have due credit to me.

EXTRA NOTE:
- The title cutscene must reach a point where it says "You may resume playing Desiredriven" before you can select "Continue" in the menu.

Yessssss! I've been waiting for this!
Edit: Whenever I try to play it, I get "DesireDriven has crashed"

If it's on the main title screen, that is meant to happen. The intro cutscene needs to finish before you may play the game. This is in replication of the games original (albeit, admittedly weird) opening. Once the "Titlemap" says you may resume playing Desiredriven, you can chose "Continue" in the menu.

This note will be added to the main post.

Downloaded! Gonna give this a spin in a moment. Always love seeing non-Doom projects pop up around here. Screenshots look good! Will report back once I've actually played through it. :D

Excellent. I knew you'd be popping in soon, Nash. You always seem to be a welcome shadow to my work. Looking forward to what you make of it, or even what you could find useful in it.

It seems something is broken, using the front door to retrieve the package did nothing. I had to manually type "pukename Package1" in the console.
EDIT: The same issue applies to the computer, weird

Interesting... I'll look into it. I'll post any updates as soon as I can.

EDIT: Removed. See post below.

Faced the same problems as TZK, I tried running around but can't seem to get the package! Admiring the mod's aesthetics though, it was fun looking and clicking around the things in the house. :D Hope you fix the mod soon so I can continue my adventure!

This issue has been corrected. Please see the main post above for the download link to v1.1. Apologies on the initial error, I should have checked on making sure it runs in the latest SVN. With the issue now corrected, the door is fixed and many new things around can be interacted with, like the oven or talisman rack for example.

Out of curiosity, what was the problem? Could be helpful for other people who're having problems with their mods.

The issue came about because the maps had "CheckSwitchRange", added for an outdated reason. For some reason, earlier SVNs still allowed any linedef to be activated no matter what and it seems the latest SVNs finally corrected the issue. Doors and the like would still work because the activate linedef was on a solid line, not a double-sided one. Not entirely sure on the ins-and-outs, but the matter has been corrected by removing that MAPINFO property. (Which wasn't even necessary, honestly.)

Oh awesome, can't wait to go through this again! Didn't actually know you were working on it still, color me pleasantly surprised. It'll be great to see more areas perfectly recreated in 3D glory!

Sorry to disappoint you, Yholl, but DDD is effectively dead. I lost motivation for it as my wanting to do something more original with the engine took over. I've improved the system for my own purpose considerably since this, which has been in this unfinished state for a number of months. I'm proud of what is complete, but I know I'll never pick it back up, hence the release to share it all with you.

I do have it on good authority, i.e. occasionally contact with one of the heads of DD's development, that pushing out DD Act 2 still lingers in their mind. I've even seen a rough draft of the story and contributed concept art and graphics to Act 2. Though, like me, they are currently pursuing original interests, which itself is incredibly promising.

Haha, no disappointment, hearing that you're gonna use this system for something of your own certainly has my interest, though! I look forward to seeing what you do next.
