Return to the Slipgate Complex V1.4 Coming Soon

I wanted to say that I'm currently cleaning up the whole mods files such as graphics and textures. V1.4 Will be released sometime in early april and all the useless unused data will mostly be gone by then.

What is Quake: Return to the Slipgate Complex?

QRTTSC is the spiritual successor to Marc Pullen's "QDoom" which was released way back in 1999. After playing the wad in EDGE, I decided to make my own project based off of QDoom known simply as "Quake: Return to the Slipgate Complex" So far i'm planing on making this wad slightly more upgraded then the original such as "Improved Animations" and etc. Now since this might become a megawad me along with a few others are going to work on the project. I'm planning on making the levels as big as doom 2 can handle in it's engine. I'll make sure to give updates about the project whenever so hopefully you can stay tuned until it's fully released. - Aidan

After a while of this project being on hold, I'm finally going to release v1.4 Alpha of "Quake: Return to the Slipgate Complex" Lots of changes have happened ever since the last update, Such as the enemies original sprites being replaced with higher quality sprites as well as them being scaled down as well. I have to change some of the other graphics and the weapons have replaced the main ones from doom as well. Also there will be two classes to play as which are "The Ranger" and "The Blader" The blader at the moment hasn't been updated that much yet, So right now he's just a sprite of ranger holding an axe as well as having the "Double Shotgun" as his start weapon and thanks for the support that you guys have been giving to the project as well. Hopefully the next updates will be worth it.

After almost a week of this thread being up a download link is finally uploaded. Also i'm now accepting collaboration for this current project, So if you want to do any custom sprites/rips or even a map make sure to private message me on here and youtube only!! As of right now the wad only has three maps and it's still currently growing. I decided to released it a couple days early since it was already finished so you can called this an "Early Quakemas" gift. Plans for the second map to be released will be sometime in january and the rest will be finished right after.

UPDATE

Since the map has been finished i've decided to make this a ten map long wad that works with GZDoom,Zdoom and Zandronum. Luckily this will only take about a few weeks or less to finish it but hopefully it will be worth it. Also here's the current title screen for the wad if you're interested in well "Title Screens" xD, But in all seriousness i'll get the first level done by friday and upload a video to youtube to show the current progress for the wad so far. Also for those who are asking "Will this work with Quake Stuff Ultra?" why yes it will so that way people if they want to play in a "3D" style they gladly can just to give that "Quake Vibe" I'm not having any texture/map problems so far everything looks like how it should.

Update

Thanks for the feedback on this mod it's nice people are interested over this project. I will release a "One Map" demo on Christmas Day as a quaketastic gift. The first map is about 70% complete including the ending of the level being completed as well. I still have some parts of the level to finish but other then that I haven't had any problems about developing the maps and Importing the graphics and sound effects as well as music. But anyways thanks for your support I really appreciate it.

Hope you guys enjoy this upcoming wad Cheers

Does this still contain an entire IWAD in it?

Here's just a sample i did using this wad. It's a nice outdoor area along with some pillars and enemies too go with it. But however it's a secret.....

Also since it's quite windy in the stairs area, I might make a custom texture that's says "Warning Quaky Wind"

I'd love to see this as a heretic map so I could play it through my "descent into heresy" mod... good work...

That would be pretty awesome man I've always enjoyed descent into heresy a lot and you did an amazing job on it. The map will be released on Christmas Day.

(RTTSC) Looking for Mappers and Editors

Post by Luigi2600 »

Hello everyone.

If you know me by now you may have seen my upcoming project "Return to the Slipgate Complex" which you can view here: http://forum.zdoom.org/viewtopic.php?f=19&t=50155

So far i'm currently working on the project but however, If anyone is interested in working on the project with me. Well you've came to the right place. For a while i was thinking about looking for people who would be interested in working on this project. I honestly can't work alone since this is going to be a pretty huge project so i was wondering this "Do you want to work on this project with me" This is only optional since people might be busy with other projects but having a helping hand or two would be nice.

Rules:

First, you have to be good at making doom maps for this

Second, Make sure you put time and effort into making graphics or ripping textures

Third, Make sure to use the resources from the wad itself.

And finally Make sure to post a download link once there done.

Anyways if you're interested in working on this please let me know by PMing me, If not then i perfectly understand and you have the right to do so. Download link is on the forum a linked, I'm currently looking foward into this wad and having some help would be very helpful. Thank you and have a good day everyone.

In a case like this, bumping your original topic is acceptable. I've merged your thread into the original topic. Feel free to edit the first post of the thread if you need to alter the title.

Alright thanks for notifying me about this. Also bumping them together was a pretty good idea.
