I was always a huge fan of ROTT's music. It's expressive, vibrant, and galvanizing most of the time. Doom's is atmospheric and suspenseful. There's a pretty big difference between the two.

The maps layout makes ROTT an automatic lose.

Rise of the Triad is faster paced and flows really well as you are playing it. Pretty much non-stop action and the music is amazing. For me the biggest pitfall is there's not a really good source port for it yet. We have WinROTTGL but it is still a bit clunky. The controls are kinda bad still, mouselook is horrid, and the FPS is locked at 30 I believe. I've heard or seen it might be possible for ECWolf to run RoTT since the engines are similar or something like that.

For my taste of weaponry i choose rise of the triad because there's so many missile launchers to choose from but the bad part is you only can keep one. The best weapon that i like in rise of the triad are the Heatseeker, Firebomber, and Flamewall.

You know i was just thinking let just pertinent that one of the ROTT characters was in doom and all the weapons came with. If you were facing a Baron of hell, cacodemon, or cyberdemon which rise of the triad weapons would you use against them?

Hmm, I actually wonder if ROTT could be ported to something like ECWolf

It's on the roadmap for full support. Quite distant as a goal, but it's there.

If it weren't for the 90-degree walls, gravity anomaly disks, and all sorts of wacky stuff, ROTT would have been just another Doom clone in its own right. But those features and more that weren't even featured in Doom made the game unique and pretty good in its own light. It just didn't have the fandom and publicity that Doom 2 had at the time.

I still want to know what ROTT would've been like on Build instead. By the time the ROTT team found out about Build being a thing it was too late to pull back on it now, but, damn, could things have been different and better for it.

Much agreed. Frankly the weapon system needed a lot more work, but there's a lot to the game that Doom just doesn't have.

I always thought ROTT's huge variety of traps and hazards were really amazing. Something I'd much like to do in a work of my own.

The only thing I didn't like in ROTT is how weak the bullet weapons felt and how slow most enemies were, compared to Wolf3D.
Other than that, is a very neat game.

ROTT it pretty much has everything that you can think of. But it did lack of a few things like the bosses. ROTT had the most easiest bosses well except for the NME bot he was the toughest in ROTT but the rest was nothing but a joke.

Doom is coming along really nice now because of its all new features that you can do now but ROTT still out beats Doom for along shot.

You know i just remembered something too ROTT did come back again but this time its called The Return of the Triad and it supposed to have all of the old weapons, power ups, monsters, items, etc... and i heard that the new ROTT levels or different from the old 90° angle. I don't know if there's any difference between the two.
And I've never played Return of the triad before? Is it any different from the old 1994 & 95 ROTT?

Return of the Triad is basically a sequel made with ZDoom.

More or less what ROTT is like in a different engine would be that. But there is also the not so polished 2014 remake.
