Disney Doom

Over at /r/Doom, a user requested help with a disney doom mod, as he couldn't get it to work. I found the download and converted over everything into a nice little .pk3 and slight decorate modifications. Figured I'd share it here since people were treating it like some underground mod. It's nothing more than a sprite and audio conversion, everything behaves vanilla.

As per requested here: https://www.reddit.com/r/Doom/comments/ ... sney_doom/

I remember this one, I had hoped it would remain "lost" :D

Anyone have any clue why it was named Disney Doom? From those screenshots alone there's Simpsons characters, Warner Bros. cartoon characters and Roger Rabbit. I mean, it's not like Disney has a shortage of characters or anything.

Seems like it would've made more sense to use SNDINFO instead of DECORATE, since the only changes here are sound properties.

I'll say it: Disney does not transfer well to Doom at all.

all those features ZDoom offers aren't needed, huh? I can't hate it though.. this is exactly the type of thing i'd get free with computer magazines in the mid 90's and play the heck out of on my computer.. I loved those things. I would spend hours a day on Beavis and Butthead Doom, which only changed the sprites and sound of 2 of the monsters.

I lost it when I saw Quasimodo in the last shot as a Baron of Hell.

My guess is they bit off more than they could chew and stole assets from other cartoon-themed mods (Simpsons Doom, Looney Tunes Doom) regardless of whether Disney had anything to do with them. My early mods were crap too, but I at least tried to make them consistent.

but at least these Simpsons sprites weren't just taken from a Simpsons Doom and made from scratch. I think it should be Roger Rabbit Doom since that movie mixed Disney, Looney Tunes and other cartoons into one, or maybe just Cartoon Doom. And the fact that this being made on ZDoom means he can just go wild and make a random spawner for each monster and make as many cartoon character monsters as he wants, which would be more fun.

This mod wasn't originally made on zdoom. The dude on reddit couldn't figure out how to make it run properly, so I converted it to zdoom.
