ECWolf section?

If it's not ZDoom, it goes here.

Is creating an ECWolf section in the forums a good idea?

ECWolf section?

Post by Tapwave »

Since ECWolf has been getting more and more popular and moddable these days, I've got a real interest in it, but outside of searching specifically for related matters, finding threads about it here is a bit difficult.
Hence why I'm suggesting creating an ECWolf section on the forums for it.

DRDTeam already has ECWolf section, which is pretty much the official ECWolf forum. And that one doesn't have too much going on there. As much as I love ECWolf, I think it's rather useless.

Given how many ECWolf fans are far more active in the ZDOOM forum than the DRDTeam forum, I think it's actually quite necessary. Besides, ECWolf adopts some of the ZDOOM's code, so having only one thread to discuss ECWolf doesn't seem to be a good idea.

Hm, I wouldn't mind, I suppose, considering ECWolf-related projects have already been showing up in the Projects forum. It'd probably also be a welcome place for Doomjedi to post his occasional SDL-based mods. Maybe if there's great enough demand, I could go ask Randi.

Not a bad idea. There's barely any activity on the DRDTeam forums to begin with.

I support this motion. ECWolf owes much of its existence to ZDoom, and GZDoom has already made this place its home, so it seems only logical.

Even 3dge mods are in the projects subforum.

Sure. Maybe even an ECWolf Tutorials section, so that people who are new at ECWolf modding (like me) can get the basics. Entirely optional.

But seriously, PK3's will work with ECWolf, right?

Yes, actually. The "Tech Demo" available at Blzut3's website is one.

The Wolfenstein Haven forums have a lil' Doom modding section, so I don't see why not for vice-versa. But the ECWolf modding community is relatively young compared to the Wolf4SDL and Doom modding communities.

There's nothing wrong with the DRD Team forum. ZDoom doesn't need to have a redundant forum, and you can already put your ECWolf project here after all.
