[EDGE MOD] Butter

basic mod where everything follows a 5 weapon formula for each weapon whilst remaining balanced. it follows a work guide to do it, which is

5 weapons per ammo, 20 weapons (melee is coming dont fear)
-1 Balanced
-1 Power
-1 Speed
-1 Unusual
-1 Weird as fuck

this is like mega pre alpha so theres not even fancy effects or pick ups yet ya gotta cheat atm, and not 100% balanced quite yet but i wanted to get sumfin out before christmas, ill get to it later

all bullet guns done and 2 shells done. use edge 1.35 as the newest 1.36 has hud issues

For some reason I thought SUAB was supposed to be the last mod you'd make and that made me sad, but I see I got a bad case of the dumbs and don't know where I got that idea from at all. Anyway, this could use some feedback!

The currently usable weapons all feel great with the possible exception of the elephant gun, which I think I probably just don't like because it can't kill a pinky for 2 shells when the actual shotgun can, but it's overkill for anything weaker than one. They also all look pretty great, again besides the elephant gun, which is pointed oddly and the graphics don't really feel like they match as much as the other weapons.

tbh atm im a bit pigeonholed on what to use as I wanted to have like a flintlock or a sharps/trapdoor rifle for the elephant gun but cuz of resources I gotta make due with what I got

if u got sumfin to recommend tho im super all ears tbh

Just distribute the HUD from 1.35 (the coal_hud.EC file) and it'll be compatible with 1.36+. If you include the code folder (doom_ddf) then having that HUD will override all others, even the defaults.

Also - is that OJ Simpson? Cause if it is - awesome.

Someone needs to make an 3DGE mod where you play as OJ on the night he stole the memorabilia (and got caught). Could make awesome use of RTS scripts.

I believe it's supposed to be Ken Foree as Peter from Dawn of the Dead, as the face graphics came from (if I remember right, anyway) Zombies TC.

I'd like to think that is it OJ, though.

it is from the Zombies TC, yeah. it's a pretty good TC for what it is actually, as well as the music and gameplay. it even works properly in modern source-ports for me.

in normal doom2 maps you have normal d2 weapons to pick upor get from monsters [ssg & chaingun] i try some pwad but it is same..

pick ups havnt been implemented yet. you have to cheat for the weapons. next release ill start having pick ups in, but im tryin to do this in chunks rather than spread out what needs to be done

Some of the higher-velocity weapons seem to be able to shoot through walls, notably both of the machine guns. Is this intentional? It only seems to happen on certain surfaces; I was able to kill many of the zombies of Map02 through walls, but trying to do so through one of the blue key doors didn't work at all.
