brightmaps work in zandro but not GZdoom?

as the title says...i got bored and installed zandronum for multiplayer to notice the brightmaps work just fine but do not in GZdoom

Brightmaps work fine for me, maybe your not using them properly?

brightmaps ARE enabled. and im loading them in with the ZDL, ive also tried to drag n drop to no avail. sorry for the lack of information, i honestly have no idea whats going on

When asking for help it is always best to provide as much information as possible. Else this degenerates into a guessing game.
What exactly is the brightmaps file which you are loading ?
A screenshot of the ZDL loading screen would also be helpful.

Sbrightmaps works fine in Zandronum 1.2 i have tried using gzdoom svn builds, and official, and cannot seem to have them work, despite having turned them on, its always standard doom brightmaps

Which brightmaps file are you loading? I assume the one provided with GZDoom? (That's what I used for the above screenshot.)

When you load the game, if you look at the console output, does it say that the file has loaded (look at the startup window or open the console in game and scroll to the top):

I *think* on some hardware there might be an "enable brightmaps" (or similar) option in the OpenGL config menu. Check to see if you have that option and, if so, if it is enabled.

Failing any of the above, it might be useful to post the output from your console when you start the game. Add +logfile log.txt to the command line. Start a game then quit and then post the contents of log.txt (which should be created in your GZDoom directory) on here.

I see that you are loading SBrightmaps.pk3. I assume that's "Skulltag Brightmaps" or something. What happens of you just load the standard brightmaps that come with GZDoom? Do they work?

However, this:
GL_VENDOR: Intel
is always worrying.

no luck. my graphics card can obviously support them (zandronum uses them just fine) if there is no possible fix, is there anyway to force the GL_VENDOR to change to something that supports Brightmaps? if not everything is okay its not the end of the world. but i would like a more immersive environment

GL_VENDOR, unless I am wrong, is based on the drivers that you're using for your graphics card or graphics processor (APU even). So, no, it is not possible unless you have multiple graphics processors already installed?

Zandronum uses GZDoom's OpenGL renderer engine, although, it is rather ancient. Are you sure your settings are allowing the brightmaps to be rendered into the virtual world? I have just downloaded SBrightmaps and tested it on my installation of GZDoom g1.8.4, everything works perfectly fine for me.

enable brightness maps is on in the openGL preference settings. no clue though...like i said though if this cannot be figured out, its no biggie
