Is there any chance that someone out there with 3D modeling capability would be willing to help me on this project? I probably don't need a ton of models, but there are a few things that can't be done in sprites or architecture. For example, I need bicycles, cash register, book model, that sort of thing. Not a ton of stuff... If anyone can help, PM me or email me at real_trisk@yahoo.com

thanks all!

I'm making a city based level set next, now that I've finished "The Island" and "E2M4 Redux." Here's a sneak peek at one portion of it.

Tell me what you think! Level demonstration starts at 2:40.

I so wanna destroy hundreds of those flowers using a chaingun. By the way, i know this may sound a bit too hard to make but, i think it would be cool if the actual books could be destroyed as well.

Wow, very cool! Those destructable objects are awesome, it'll be great to see this stage in action.

Yeah, I wish the books could be destroyed, but the problem is, they are not sprites, so my options are limited. I could make it so that when the books are shot, the texture is replaced with a "shot up" texture, and cause a puff of page bits to fly out, but that would be about all I could do. Also, if I were to do this, I don't think? GZDoom can differentiate between different 3d floor objects placed in the same space. It would simply react to the linedef getting hit, so all the books in the entire shelf would switch to their "shot up" state. (Pros, correct me if I'm wrong about that.) In the end, I'm not sure such a jarring thing would be better than simply making them non-interactive.

My only other option is to make them ALL sprites, and I'm not sure it would look good with them flashing from side to side, even if they were 16 sided.

That said, if I did do sprite books, I could actually film one being shot up to make it look super realistic! That would be fun to capture! ^_^ Any excuse to get outside and shoot something with a shotgun.

You could make books with invisible actors that upon death could drop some pages and become a flat "destroyed book" model/voxel. This would need a lot of work and precision tough.
