XDoom

And here's the thread about XDoom for those on the ZDoom forums! I seriously doubt all of you have heard about my project on Doomworld, and for that reason, I have created this thread.

Also, here's a basic FAQ, consisting of an assload of questions I've recieved over eMail and just some random ones you may be wondering about:

1: Q: How will Tom Hall's weapons be implemented?
A: That's really a question only time can answer. If XDoom nears completion before ZDoom 2.0.64 comes out, then we'll just hijack some Hexen weapons. Otherwise, we'll use ZDoom's new DECORATE weapons system.

2: Q: What version of Doom is this mod for?
A: Doom1, of course, to preserve the episodes system and just to stay classic, so to speak, since the Doom Bible was the original invisioning of Doom 1.

3: Q: I played the alpha you sent me via eMail... And I think it's great (or not). Will there be an XDoom add-on, or an XDoom 2?
A: Maybe ;)

Please note that this FAQ will get alot longer as I get more questions in my Inbox, and maybe eventually I will post screenshots.

XDoom is a project I started in an attempt to recreate every possible aspect of the Doom Bible. So far, it has been very successful, IMHO.

This is cool. I've always wanted to see the Doom Bible made into an actual mod.

8-)

The doom bible is about the original betas of doom and how id Software came up with doom and how they wanted it to be.

You never responded to my email inquiry. I am interested in doing levels for your project, especially E1M8. Please note that I no longer use SLIGE for anything and am making real levels for real. Regulars at the Skulltag forum may remember the public betas I released for my DM-Symmetry level (which is finished but unavailable on the Internet due to problems with my floppy disks and my own forgetfulness). I really like making hellish-corrupted-base designs, so E1M8 would be the perfect undertaking for me.
