Avatar is subject to change soon as I'm working on a bunch of HUD portraits. However, the current avatar is for the exact same project.
Bunnie Rabbot for those who didn't follow either the Saturday Morning Sonic the Hedgehog cartoon show from about... 15 years ago? Or the Archie Comics, which has been ongoing since '94 or so, and she's been redone with a little "sense" (plus one railgun). That is, her bionics are done big and bulky and stuff because that shit has to be repaired and maintained. Eventually, it's not going to look pretty.

My Black Mage over there is- WAS, I should say- my character in a BYOND game... A not-so-massive MMORPG. MORPG, I guess? I'd been playing for a few years, and while I wasn't exactly "popular", I had earned a degree of respect amongst the regulars, and I knew the game pretty well.

It used to be such a good game (Think along the lines of Diablo but with an 8-bit Final Fantasy flavor to it), albeit with a lot of drama and a small community, maybe 50 players online during a good day, so anything that happened became well-known very quickly; Usually for better, sometimes for worse.
But, of course, all good things must come to an end.
I weathered the steady decline of the community and administration, through increasing levels of bug abuse and griefers and trolls and DRAMA LIKE YOU WOULDN'T BELIEVE (no seriously you have NO IDEA how bad it was at its peak. I've seen the Doom community's drama and, while it's the closest I've seen, it is in a completely different league), until one of the corrupt admins finally threw down the last straw and banned several players- my closest friends and allies, no less- over personal reasons (in other words, "because his group couldn't beat them even with admin abuse"*) and made up some ridiculous bullshit about them attempting to "destabilize the community and ruin the game", (Said group of players was actively fighting AGAINST the biggest, dumbest, and most strangely-well-coordinated group of trolls I've ever seen) and then even when the truth came out (No easy feat considering they were banned from the forums too) the creator (lead admin, obviously) UPHELD THE BANS because these players were "dominating the game"- Fairly, mind you; Probably the only major faction that DIDN'T constantly abuse bugs/balance issues and antagonize newbies.
Yeah. They basically got banned/player-wiped for being TOO GOOD.
I departed that day with an indignant-yet-polite forum post and haven't gone back since. It's just as well, really; The game had already gone so far into hell that it came out the other end (our faction was more-or-less dedicated to making the game playable again, by building up abandoned towns, setting newbies on the right track, and keeping the trolls and other assorted griefers out of power), and it stopped being hosted in a matter of weeks after the incident.

*Turning invisible, noclipping, teleporting to/summoning other players (to reinforce quickly after respawning, for example), and spawning high level monsters to destroy player-owned towns. Basically everything short of outright banning them. I have NO IDEA how this guy got picked as an admin, especially since he was easily manipulated AND associated with someone who was blatantly trying to ruin the game.

It still haunts me in my dreams, too. We always joked that it was impossible to quit that game... I guess it wasn't just a joke, after all.

I stuck with my name and avatar, though. Speaking of my name, I got it from a fantasy name generator because I suck at making fantasy names. I had generated a last name, too, but I ended up never using it, and I can't even remember it anymore.

Goodness, that was a lot of drama, and it was just a summary. Felt good to tell the tale, though.

The last slug from my trusty .32 punched through the hoodlum's beat-up bowler and sent him to the ground. I remembered slaps from dames that hurt more than that probably did, but even still, couldn't help but feel sorry for the guy.

god damnit, used to have nightmare thanks to this. that guy scared the shit out of me when i was a kid.

My avatar is a sprite of the Titan i've almost compeleted, but this one just has some added wings and a handcannon of some sort.

Daggerfall fans might recognize mine. It's a statue in Shedungent (Nulfaga's chamber, to be precise). You can use it, and a tapestry in a neighboring corridor, to skip through nearly all of the dungeon by typing SHUT UP in the command prop that appears when you engage it. My title is what the statue says when engaged. Daggerfall is bar-none my favorite game of all time and for some reason I always found this thing interesting.
