(nearly) all brightmaps (including textures and flats)

Post by Virtue »

Ive been working on the seriously untouched brightmaps lump, Ive pretty much got everything in Doom, Heretic and Hexen complete, it isnt perfect, there may be a few errors Ive not seen but yeah, I've even done nearly textures that had lights, theres just a few Hexen sprites (such as torches) that I havnt done....

Kewl.

Why not drop thes ein on DRDTeam's GZDoom forum? You could end up seeing them in Brightmaps.pk3 in the next release. :)

Yours are probably better than mine, or maybe just different, but I'd already done the Doom/Doom2 walls some time ago.

Just had a look, yours are quite dark compared to mine, but your BRICKLIT and BSTONE3 maps are better than mine

Wow, even Heretic and HeXen. That means we should make brightmaps for custom textures and monsters in HPack too...

Definitely good work here. I had been wanting to finish the spider, cacodemon, and revenant brightmaps for years now, but now it's done. The Spider Mastermind face is even freakier. More textures and flats too, hooray!

These are great, but I'm having a problem using them. Often, while playing the game with brightmaps enabled, the floor and/or ceiling will flicker into some sort of incorrectly applied brightmap. When flickering, it looks like the attached image. There is also an associated problem with the walls. Any suggestions to fix this? I am using the most recent version of Skulltag.

Use GZDOOM. This isn't the Skulltag forums.

He's only stating the fact they work incorrectly in Skulltag.

And with your logic are you telling people not to mention Skulltag here because this is not Skulltag forums?

That's mostly because :
- The Devs have nothing to do with Skulltag
- Skulltag uses WAY older AND very modified versions of GZDOOM
- Skulltag has it's own forum.
You see my point?

Is he?

Here's how you do it:

Jute, do they work correctly for you in the newest version of GZDoom?

If they don't, we can consider that it may be a driver problem. (Shaders perhaps.)

Seriously, you've been here for a few months, and you're trying to tell off people that have been here for years...
Try thinking, then hitting the preview button, then thinking some more.
