[Resource]Heretic 2 Textures and Sounds

Post by Shadelight »

You must use 7-zip to extract these!

I finally managed to rip the Heretic 2 Textures and convert them using a command prompt program I happened to find while browsing the web. The textures are all in .BMP at the moment and the sounds are in .wav format. You may have to convert the BMPs if you want to use them as PNGs but they should work in ZDoom since the tallest I've seen so far was 128x128.

I am currently reuploading since I missed a set of textures that weren't in the one I uploaded so the link may be down for now.
Edit: The Link is back up.

Nice textures...while a bit too late for me to take full advantage, those plants are definitely worth it ;)

A most useful set of textures. They will work very well as references for Hellion. :D

I cannot extract the content from the zip! I try to drag-drop the bitmaps out of the archive subfolders, but they don't go! Dragging the entire contents will only extract one folder as empty, then abruptly quit.

Try copying and pasting all the folders?

It's good to hear a hint that you're still working on that. :D

Nope. Same thing. Real weird. If I try to open the bitmaps within, it doesn't open.

Is it a regular ZIP that can be opened with Explorer, or does it require special tools?

I had the same problem, I was able to get it to extract by using 7Zip and instructing it where/what to extract.

Same here (with Windows' native Zip handler). Although the waves are extracting fine... :? 7-Zip works great for either, anyhow.

Well, I zipped it using 7-zip, so maybe I should've mentioned that in the first post... >_<

Well I wouldn't think the compression method should be that different if you made it as a zip... Weird.

I believe I compressed it with LZMA compression in 7-zip, that's probably why the default windows stuff can't read it very well.

Many tools have an incomplete implementation of the ZIP standards.
