Resource Request thread *Read 1st post*

Welcome to the official resource request thread!

If you have the resources that someone has requested, please post them in this thread. However, if you have posted them in a seperate thread before checking this one, please post a link to any thread with the resources.

It is recommend you use a good, private host for resources or to attach them to this thread if they are small enough. While third party file hosts such as Sendspace are fine, they have a tendency to delete inactive files after a period of time.

For uploading images, I recommend Photobucket. Registration is free, and I don't believe they will delete your pictures. No longer holds true, use imgur or a private file host for images!

For uploading code, use the code tag to preserve syntax. Post it in a spoiler tag if it's really long.

If someone has requested a level or wad file, please post a link to the /idgames database entry for the wad if applicable. A link to the wad will also suffice if no entry exists or the wad is hard to find.

If you know of a good resource host that has not been posted, please post it! I will add a link to them in this post.

RULES:

1. YOU MAY request or post graphics, code, sounds, levels, weapons, monsters, textures or anything else Doom related here.
2. YOU MAY request or post resources that might be considered not safe for work (NSFW), if you use the following guidelines:
   NSFW material may contain simulated violence or nudity, but may be safe or useful for use in a Doom mod, such as a nude painting or an extra gory death state for a monster. If you are requesting or posting something that is NSFW or believe to be NSFW, please tag your post with the [NSFW] tag. If the resource you are posting is an image, link to it as an url instead of using img tags. While I have nothing against nudity (not pornography) and simulated violence being requested or posted, others may be more sensitive and many employers are not tolerant of such material. A good example of this is Ghoul's Forest 3: it contains material that may be considered NSFW, but is otherwise safe to post.
3. YOU MAY NOT request or post anything that is illegal. Requesting textures from Hexen is fine, but requesting Hexen's wad file is not. No ROMS or warez.
4. YOU MAY NOT request or post pornography, for obvious reasons.
5. YOU MAY NOT request or post real images of violence or extreme gore. Again, obvious.

If you want to request or post any material that is not allowed, please PM a mod. Exceptions might be made, as there is a lot of material that blurs the line, such as famous paintings or photographs. Otherwise, PM or talk to someone privately about it.

*Update:
With the death of file hosting site MegaUpload, old school file hosting sites are no longer as reliable as they used to be. However, thanks to advances with cloud sharing, you now have alternatives such as Dropbox. Registration is free, and you get a couple gigs for signing up.

This is less about code and more sprites, but I see your point. :p

I remembered that I had a copy of Dark Forces lying around that I hadn't touched in years right after I posted. I then ripped all the weapons. I can upload them if anyone else needs them.

Actually, I have a copy, but can't get at the files. They're .GOO files.

Can you tell me how to open 'em? 7Zip tells me to get fucked more or less.

The .GOB files can be opened with XWE. If you're looking for the weapons, they can be found in the TEXTURES.GOB file. I haven't had any luck extracting enemy and weapon sprites, however, which are in SPRITES.GOB.

I'm a bit mixed on this thread's existence. To be perfectly honest and blunt, most resource requests wind up being largely ignored and thus waste space. The mere fact that this thread is here seems to encourage such posts, and I can see more futile requests being posted now than there would be if there wasn't a designated thread for them.

On the other hand, at least we have a single area reserved for such, which will either prevent excess request threads from popping up or at least providing a scapegoat to point people to when they try it anyway.

Of course, I do have a very bleak outlook on resource requests in general. But who knows? Something good may come of it on occasion.

I'm not sure it's a great idea having to post in this thread for resource requests. As evidenced by the original R667 Contributions thread, it can get cluttered pretty quickly, and it would be easy to miss requests (or in that thread's case, submissions). Also, Imageshack works pretty well for images, and ZShare is a good filehost and image host.

Anywho, I'll start the ball rolling by requesting a pickup sprite for railgun ammo. Preferably something that resembles the clip in the Skulltag railgun, but won't be confused for a small cell pickup.

By the way, speaking of which, should the R667 discussion and contribution threads be moved to Resources?
