[Help required!] SkullTag features in the Wiki
I've asked this before but I want to try once more.
ST's editing features should be in the ZDoom Wiki. After all, the wiki is to be used as a reference, and if someone comes across an unfamiliar ST lump/feature in a WAD and can't find it on the ZDoom Wiki, how are they going to find out what it is or how it is used? Sure they could go over to the SkullTag wiki but that place is bare and there's hardly any info on SkullTag's editing features (and is IMO ugly as heck). And yeah I know that it's THEIR problem but don't forget that a lot of ST's unique features are recognised (if not usable) in ZDoom anyway, and on top of that what harm is coming out of it? This would also be extremely useful for ST WAD authors since all their editing reference is in one place then.
Each page could have a warning at the top like this one for Sector_Set3dFloor for GZDoom. That way no one will get things mixed up. Links from other pages will also be marked with a SkullTag only warning. No one has to bother maintaining the pages if they have some grudge against ST, I'll do it all.
Tell me what you think.

Re: [Proposal] SkullTag's editing features in the ZDoom Wiki
The ST wiki once upon a time had all that info, but after Carn's drama with his former host, it was lost (they barely had time to save the forum database before the former host closed their account, so the wiki database was lost).
In the meantime, it doesn't seem like anybody has been interested in re-writing the pages.
I don't have much objection, but I think that they could just be redirects to the [wiki]Skulltag[/wiki] page, or maybe a new [wiki]Skulltag editing features[/wiki] page at most. The place the info really should be is on Skulltag's own wiki, but it's not maintained anymore.

Probably because the Wiki looks like ass. It should look more like the ZDoom one I think, a fresh new page without all the ST links and BS that you don't need to see and a layout that people are familiar with.Gez wrote:In the meantime, it doesn't seem like anybody has been interested in re-writing the pages.

The inclusion of GZDoom-only features in the wiki has already set a precedent for including child port features. I say do whatever you want.

Awww, Randy's a daddy.

Though this has already been 'Go ahead'ed, I'm adding my two cents. I think it would be a good idea to add the Skulltag-specific editing features to the wiki. The ZDoom wiki is regarded as the greatest tool for any ZDoom (and ZDoom child) editor. I've never used the Skulltag wiki for editing, even before the wiki was wiped.

Anyone got a png of the skulltag icon (the windows icon)?
Re: [Proposal] SkullTag's editing features in the ZDoom Wiki
I think the warning should be a little clearer in that "may not" should be "will not". It could always be changed later.

Re: [Proposal] SkullTag's editing features in the ZDoom Wiki
Here's just about all the editing info I know of on the Skulltag wiki.
http://skulltag.com/wiki/Classes:Skulltag
The ST community just doesn't want to maintain a separate wiki.

And I know why: Convenience. Who wants to constantly flick back and forth between TWO manuals?
