Network bug!

Post by Thrasher »

I was testing a multiplayer game over my network using version 2.0.60, and I wanted to change maps I typed in map map02 from the server window, and it bumped off my other computer with an error in the console that said "tried to transmit to another node" my other PC remained in the game but was no longer connected in multiplayer.

Don't you need to use the changemap console command for network games? Or is it the other way around?

Yes, "changemap MAP02" is network friendly, "map MAP02" is not.

A bit off topic; is this kinda like CS, where if you type in "map de_dust2", everyone gets booted to their the console but "changelevel de_dust2" works fine?

It's exactly like CS, except that it's not the most [censored word] game every invented.

Dude, don't bash CS; :( I enjoyed it for what it was worth to me. There was/is an Internet Cafe with 30 computers on a LAN near my house; 3 years back, 20 people de_inferno and 10 people fy_iceworld was a very enjoyable experience.

Fine, whatever, you enjoyed it, that still doesn't make it in any way innovative or 95% of its community any less [censored word]. :P

<-- [censored word].
[EDIT] That's about the only thing from that last post that should stay in it. I really need to read before I post (not TM).
CSDoom is a lovely thing. Counter Strike, mmm, see hotwax for details.[/EDIT]

Okay, now you can't use the map command at all in network games.
