No screenshots :-(
I don't know if this is a bug or if it's something I'm doing wrong... but whatever it is... I need help (Okay, so that can mean in more ways than you can ever imagine, but that's not the point ).
Okay, I press the screenshot button in Zdoom... it says that it's taken the screenshot (Captionblah... whatever, taken... whatever it says... it says it!) but i can't find my screenshots in my directory .
Are they stored elsewhere? If so, then how do I find out where they are stored? If that's not the problem... then this is truly a bug...
Oh, just for those who are cureouse... this happens in 60.cab... and if you really wanna know, I wanna put ROTGS up on WIP... I might also put my Demons Gate map (that must be finished before ROTGS2 even continues)... that maps shaping up to be quite good (Just check with my webpage... that will tell you! )... and the difficulty settings are gonna be really ingeneously used... IE, the whole structure of the map is gonna be effected in the difficulty; for example, in hard, it's very linear but will play more like Sereouse Sam... in easy it will be more puzzle orientated... but I havn't decided what to do with Normal skill...
Sooo, back to my bug (It's a very sexy bug)... what do I do now? I want my screenshots...

Well, any new file would be nice, but (unless my observation skills have gotten worse than they already are) there are NO new files of the name 'captionblah'... there are no new files fullstop! No png's or Pcx...
If Zdoom does save in the same directory as the Iwad... then it's definate! This is a bug!

Use Windows Explorer and search your hard drive for files named DOOM*.* Or, DOOM0*.*Lexus Alyus wrote:Soooo, where do I find out where Zdoom is saving my screenshots? I can't find any traces of any screenshots... or is it just me...
The default filename of the first screenshot is DOOM0000.pcx or DOOM000.png. Then DOOM0001, etc.

.
Are you pressing the key, which is bound to taking screenshots?
Are you sure, that you are actually taking screenshots?
Is the harddrive_led showing some activity, when you press that button?
If in doubt, check the ini_file.
As Biff already suggested: Do a search for DOOM*.png or DOOM*.pcx ( START -->> Search ).
Or better yet, just *.pcx or *.png

That's strange... I ran Zdoiom from the 'Run' command it it worked perfectly fine, however, when I drag the wad onto a Zdoom and try the screenshots, tha's when it doesn't work. I still beleive tha tthis is a bug, but at least I can get screenshots... Maybe it's something wrong with the Drag 'n drop code?

I believe zdoom saves shots to the current working directory. I have zdoom in c:/doom/zdoom which is where screenshots go (I always, always run zdoom from a run box) but my iwads are in c:/doom and pwads go in c:/doom/levels
in the case of drag and drop it might be putting the screenshots in the directory the level was in, or perhaps it's sticking them in your home directory (Documents and Settings/username/ for win2k/xp, My Documents for 9x), as I've heard of it doing that as well.
