Wow Beastiary, now with Menu! (see 1st post) Updated 8/1/7
I got a little bored with a little program called WoW Model Viewer, which is able to view any model and uh, do stuff.
Below is a sample image of what I can do.
http://max2.tradingsystems.net/waffles.png
Anyway with a system of animations, keyboard macros, and the program itself, i can make good rips of WoW models. I have had some interesting results.
What I can do..
MENU NOW LISTED HERE!
The only thing I CANT do is particle related stuff, as it messes with the transcluceny(bad spelling!).
A sample zipfile wad thingy is below
http://max2.tradingsystems.net/wowdoomstuff.zip
Is anybody interested in some rips via this sort of thing? I plan on EVENTUALLY making a mod out of this tool sometime in the future but for now I just wanna see if some people are interested in having wow related stuff in their wads.
edit: Go wild with the zip file linked, I dont care what happens with them.
If enough interest shows up (looks good so far) I'll make a request form or something.
UPDATE
I'll be putting all finished works here.

Bouncy, what MM sprites? I thought you only posted the textures (which I proudly have on my hard disk, all of them, thanks )?
EDIT: blackfish, I haven't checked your file but if you haven't already, I suggest you rip 8 frames (or more) of walking animations instead of Doom's regular 4. And generally more frames for all animations. You have 29 frames for a monster (from A-Z, [, \, and ]) and if you use up all of them and want more you can always use more than one sprite name for a monster (MON1xx, MON2xx).
Model rips tend to suck because:
1) The model itself is ugly (which isn't a problem here, the WoW models are quite defnied)
2) Crappy conversion process (too pixelated, crappy palette conversion, etc)
3) Shitty animation (only 4 frames for walking makes it looks jumpy; see various model rips in the Doom community for example)

I'll just quote myself.Nash wrote:Bouncy, what MM sprites? I thought you only posted the textures (which I proudly have on my hard disk, all of them, thanks )?
i stress again that these are just from 7.I, in another thread wrote:Here's a HELLUVA lot more previews. (note, these monsters are NOT DONE. these are just previews so you know what's COMING UP.) (Note 2: these are all ONLY from Might and Magic 7. 8 and 6 not included in this preview.)
Spoiler:I deserve a farking cookie for all that work.

Nice Bouncy. Hopefully you release a fullset of at least a few monsters some time in the future.
blackfish - okay I just tried it. I noticed that the walking frames is still only 4 (it looks silly already) and because you didn't crop your sprites properly, in GZDoom they appear to be floating in the air when "adjust sprite offsets" is turned off. You need to crop the monsters right at their feet.
