Perhaps there could be a flag for Monsters/Projectiles that ignores the player's armor? It sounds pretty simple.

Umm you got that wrong cutty it's about dealing damage to player ignoring the armor

No I know what it is, I was just wondering if monsters could have armor which would make even more use of this.

Lost Souls could be completely immune to fire weapons (blowtorch), or BattleMechs to bullets (and possibly a weakness to a lightning-base).

Adn obviously cow damage would hurt like hell with anything.

The strife mauler torpedo and sigil do damage that bypasses the player's armor, so it certainly should be possible. And it certainly does exist in the code.
