It's up to ACC 1.30 now.
DOS version

Windows version

Both work under XP, but I believe WadAuthor prefers the DOS version because it does something odd like trick programs it calls into believing windows isn't there.

I wonder what ppl claim that certain (DOS-)games do not work anymore with XP. In 16-bit mode it's just like ever since DOS v3.0, and if someone compiled a game in 32-bit DOS mode, they would know the new functions.Enjay wrote:Both work under XP, but I believe WadAuthor prefers the DOS version because it does something odd like trick programs it calls into believing windows isn't there.

certain dos games don't work under NT, try and run any game that uses the build engine, you'll have to do a serious amount of hacking and patching to get it running and even then I doubt it'll be stable. or try and get sound working with doom2.exe. less complex programs will run fine (dehacked, console programs etc etc) but that's about it. XP has a couple dos emulation improvements over NT and win2k but they're still not native dos operating systems (like win9x) so it's really trying to run dos software on an os that can only emulate (actually it's a vm, so it more tricks the software into thinking it's running on dos) dos at best.

Re: still XP
Works for me (tm)doommaster wrote:Yeah, now I've got ACC 1.30 for win, but compilling scripts I must do manually, because that I'm using WadAuthor. I've got also ACC 1.30 for dos (that witch should work with WadAuthor), but it doesn't work in WinXP.

Re: still XP
It does work in XP. All it does are some simple BIOS calls which are fully supported by XP's DOS VM. If you have WadAuthor installed in a directory with a space (such as C:\Program Files\WadAuthor), that will keep WadAuthor from being able to use ACC. WadAuthor doesn't like spaces in directory names.doommaster wrote:I've got also ACC 1.30 for dos (that witch should work with WadAuthor), but it doesn't work in WinXP.
