'Version' quirkers

Post by Chipper35 »

This applies more as a player than as a modder.....but: Anyone weird about wanting to own/inspect/play old versions of mods?

I have ALWAYS (nearly) been like this about technology. I love Anthropology and am ENTRANCED by the study of old technologies. That said, (for example) Brutal Doom -- I love playing older versions of it.

Right now, I am playing 'Ultimate Doom' using Brutal Doom v. 10! Loving it!

Any others with this weird quirk?

FreeDoom, while not technically a mod as such, is a bit like that for me. However, I think that is also driven by what FreeDoom is - a collection of resources to act in place of the Doom originals. Over time they have changed, but some of the old ones that have since been superseded are still useful and interesting. Certainly, comparing the old and new versions of various things within the FreeDoom wads is interesting to me.
