Long time lurker, first time poster and so on.

I really like squib-explosion effects in movies, especially in old westerns, where outlaws that are hit just have their chest explode into smoke, so that is something I tried to emulate.
I'm satisfied with how it turned out, especially in combination with Ashes or any western-themed mod.
It also is low-gore mod (I usually balance that out by just using the decals of nash-gore with it )

I deleted an unused frame. There are also two versions in the archive: one that does also spawns in blood or sparks (for those mods when just sparks seems to clinical), while the other is still exklusive sparks.

Neat! The movie Suckerpunch comes to mind where they fought in world war 1 and the enemies let off steam as they got hit.

I loved Suckerpunch! Now I have to see if the smoke looks good in Trenchfoot once I get home!

What is this compatible with? I'm using beautiful doom and I don't see the dust

It uses GZDoom-specific features (A_SetRoll), so it should only work with GZDoom.
So far I tried it with Ashes, HighNoonDrifter, Trenchfoot, Ntmai and some lesser known mods. You can get it working with Beautiful-Doom by loading hitsparks.pk3 after the beautiful-doom pk3 and turning off "enhanced blood" in the beautiful-setting – the mod is basically a blood-replacement.

Ah yes that works and BTW it looks great!

I've been dreaming of such minimod several months ago, thank you for making it come to fruition, it is now on my permanent autoload.
