Glowing Liquids

Post by Panzermann11 »

What is this?

This is a simple PK3 file making liquids such as lava and nuclear waste dynamically glow around the map's enviroment. Supports (Free)Doom, Heretic, Hexen and The Adventures of Square. There's also compatibility PK3s for certain Doom WADs such as Scythe 2, Back to Saturn X and Ancient Aliens aswell.

The nukage glow is a tiny bit too strong for my liking judging by the screenshot, but other than that, this seems like a nifty add-on. I'm all for mods that utilize GZDoom's feature set to breathe new life into existing maps, and this looks to hit the mark.

I can assure you, the lighting doesn't look that bright. Now that you said it, I picked a better place to showcase the effect now.

I now added a filter for Freedoom, so the mod should be compatible with both FD and retail Doom now. :)

This looks nice. Does it support the other liquid mods like smooth fluids?

I tested it and sadly it's not compatible. Colored light will still emit around nearby walls, but the liquid itself doesn't glow in the dark.
