Long Loading Times
Hello, i'm very new to the whole DOOM modding scene. So far, i've been able to use GZDoom without any issues. However, whenever i load in a map, it takes around
5-6 seconds to load in. Does anyone know why that is? I tried using a older version and it loaded in much quicker. I'm currently using 3.3.0 64x.

Are all settings the same in both versions? What’s the old version exactly?

Also, it happens on all maps.
I also have a Intel HD 3000 and a cord i5, if that helps.

Re: Long Loading Times
Can you narrow it down with the versions in-between? They are all still available for download. The less code there is to check the easier it may be to find what's up.

It seems that 3.3.0 x64 is where the issue starts.

Re: Long Loading Times
Alright, it appears to be a opengl issue, since running it in software mode doesn't have the issue.

Re: Long Loading Times
Can you check if the setting for texture precaching has changed between versions? This can make quite a difference on slower systems.

Re: Long Loading Times
Alright, i transferred all my settings from 3.3.0 to 3.2.5 and the loading issue didn't occur. So it is an issue with 3.3.0.

Re: Long Loading Times
Can you test some of the devbuilds on devbuilds.drdteam.org?
And how does the 32 bit version behave?

Re: Long Loading Times
Could you please download 32- and 64-bit versions of 3.3.1 and extract them to separate empty folders.
Copy just one IWAD, let's say Doom II, there too and compare loading time of both versions.

Re: Long Loading Times
64 bit version has a loading time of around 9 seconds, and the 32 bit one has a loading time of around 1 second.
