Jumpscare Monsters - Statues.

On one of the later levels in my game, there is a hotel that features a small museum with wax dummies. My original design document from 1998 says that need to be statues that can be looked at and examined, but when triggered they come to life as zombies enemies. So basically, the activation of a switch or even the turning of your back or leaving the room may trigger them to "unfreeze" and come to life as enemies. How would I go about programming this? I have them fully sprited, I just need to know how to make them start out as statues on a plinth to suddenly coming to life as monsters.

Give the thing a +USESPECIAL flag, then give them a script to do Thing_Activate on said thing and press use while facing them.

Or if you want them to activate automatically from a line or switch, make them dormant then do Thing_Activate in a script on that line.
