Hello there!

D.A.S. is simply a dual weapons mod, the originial doom weapons doubled. If you are gonna say "man, that have been done", there's no need,
I supposed :wink: , but that's not the matter. only the weapons have demonstrated to be very interesting in deathmatch, as they are balanced,
not having only the twice the firepower, but also some negative feedbacks (a good proof would be the dual bfg9000. you'll see).

But, still, it's not the main thing. the mod is supposed to be used in specific maps, having around the game area only the original weapons.
The double weapons can be bought from traders with vouchers that you get killing other players.

by now all the weapons are done and one map is mostly finished.

a short description of the weapons:

Dual pistols: two guns. You can fire in a shot-after-shot mode, or shoot both pistols at the same time. nothing negative at all (the weapon is very weak, so there's no need).

double automatic shotguns: as two shotguns fired simultaneously, but with a larger spread and reload. also each weapon drum can only contain 12 shells, so you will need to reload.

double SuperShotguns: 40 bullets. nuff' said. veeeery loooong reload.

dual uzis: twice the fast than the chaingun. sadly one uzi clip can hold only 30 bullets.

double grenade launcher: as powerful as the rocket launcher missiles, the grenades feedback is their limited range. very very long reload after shooting.

dual plasma rifles: need to say more?? these will eat your cells before you can even blink. two fire modes as the pistols. 1 sec heat-up!!

double BFG 9000 (BFG 18k): self descriptive. But the power has two bad parts: 1º 4.5 secs to load. 2º you will find by yourself!!

notes: the reloadable weapons can be reloaded with the secondary fire. in fact, to make them balanced and harder to use you WILL HAVE to manually reload ALWAYS. when the ammo runs out you will be adviced by a trigger sound.
the simultaneous fire mode is slower but deals more damage per second than the shot-after-shot mode. but also wastes more ammo.

Anyhow, this looks pretty interesting, though that's all I can say since there's no download at the moment. Keep it up though!

I can see this working much better though as just a weapons mod at first, without maps and without a buying system. What's wrong with replacing the defaults? I'm quite eager to dual-wield something now ;P

For the dual BFG 9000, are you going to make the Doomplayer slower because of the heavy weapons he's holding?

this contains only the weapons. for use in single or multiplayer, it will not replace the original weapons, but in the game you will pick up the dual version of the weapon, wich will give you also the single one.
the buying sistem is to add a bit interest to the project, as i thought the weapons were already done...

no, that's not what i thought, but it would have been a good idea anyways. download it. test it. suffer it...
note that this happens randomly, not always, and with a 10% probability. so at first you wont see it, but when it happens you will notice it...
