Stuck on Doom1

Post by NPL »

I launched doom 1 alot while playing gzdoom on the newest version.
Then I wanted to play Alphabet doom on doom2 after I finished playing epsidoe 3 of doom 1, when I loaded the wad the game was still doom 1, still all of the episodes showing (was playing ultimate doom).
I am using Windonws 11 btw. Idk if it's important.
Tried to load put the doom 2 wad inside, didn't work, both, didn't work, reinstalling, didn't work. I tried troubleshooting, didn't work. Nothing did, still if you know how to fix this then thank you, if I ever have the same problem I can check back here.

remove Doom wad, put Doom2 wad in the same GZDoom folder together with Alphabet. Select both and drag to GZDoom executable, assuming Windows and assuming you aren't using a launcher?

I did that, didn't even have inside of the foler doom 1, using the gzdoom it just loaded by itself, even tho I didn't have it in the folder, I was dragging the files in.

When you start GZDoom, open the console and scroll up to the top of the output. Near the top, it should tell you which files have been loaded. That should tell you where the Doom 1 IWAD is being loaded from.

There's a console ingame that you can open with the key under Esc. If that doesn't work you can set the key in the options menu.

I would suggest checking if the Show IWAD selection dialog option is turned off in the Miscellaneous Options menu and turning it back on if it is, because that sounds like it could the issue you're having, if you have your other IWADs in the correct location.
