Raze can't detect proasm version of wanton
Both of Shadow Warriors expansions are available from http://www.proasm.com/sw/swaddons.html
These seem to be different from the ones included with the redux package on steam. Raze can detect this version of Twin Dragon but can't seem to detect this version of Wanton Destruction

I would think the reason for this is that the ProAsm version is a repack and not an "official release".

Re: Raze can't detect proasm version of wanton
I think this is somewhat a can of worms; Ben Smit is not an official authority on Shadow Warrior but was one of the modding community's most prolific archivists; he repacked literally all available mods and user made levels for the game (as at early 2000s) for his own source port SWP. Because JFSW and other non-DOS ports were effectively dead for years, the Duke community in the form of Evan Ramos maintained SWP for a while as VoidSW wasn't ready and Raze didn't exist yet; in fact, I helped on that, in a minor way, mostly because I was fed up with SWP crashing all the time; indeed, SWP on WINE was the only way to play the game on Linux for years.
In short, until the advent of VoidSW and Raze, SWP was the go-to source port for Shadow Warrior Classic and Ben's repackages were the de-facto way of playing almost everything Shadow Warrior, even most levels. Thus perhaps his repackages should be supported as many people have them; then again, as not official, maybe not.

It's just a CRC. Apparently VoidSW doesn't support this one as well, the list of supported files should be the same between it and Raze.

My comment was not meant to downplay Ben's contributions to SW, just theorising why the repack may be missing from the list of recognised GRP files. Since those are inherited from upstream I've also asked in the Duke4 Discord.

Re: Raze can't detect proasm version of wanton
Hot take maybe, but IMO Redux, before WangGDX, VoidSW, and Raze stepped into the ring, it was a better option to play the game, stability issues aside.
On Windows versions higher than 7 SWP's audio is completely borked too, though supposedly compatibility options help with that. At any rate, I'm not opposed to the idea of supporting this version either since it just requires an extra CRC check to detect, only that it is not an official release but a repack.
Does it differ in any capacity from the official releases?

Yes, it was stripped off all the content that redundantly duplicates SW.GRP so it is a lot smaller.

Re: Raze can't detect proasm version of wanton
As far as I'm aware, the so-called current "official" releases that are packaged with SW on steam are versions of the ProAsm packs. Though I don't know the difference between that version of wanton and this one on ProAsm website. If they've been used in this official capacity, wouldn't these repacks be considered the same?

The version on the ProASM page are stripped off redundant content. The one in the GOG release contains all of SW.GRP and could be used as a standalone game - Ive never tested that, though.

So the ProASM Wanton Destruction version will remain unsupported?

No. But it's not urgent. Feel free to make a PR if this is important enough.

Just added support for this version myself, so this can now be closed
