[0.7.2] [Exhumed] Next / previous weapon
It seems that the next weapon / previous weapon commands do no work in game. You can bind them in the control section, but it doesn't work in game.

The game never had those functions,so technically it's not a bug but a missing feature.
But that's the story of Exhumed, the game feels so rough and unfinished in its original form that I wonder how anyone could think it was releasable...

Wasn't it originally made for a console using a different engine and then ported across to the PC and Build at fairly short notice? If so, perhaps the conversion was rushed/incomplete?

Yes, the console version ran on a different engine, while the PC version used Build.Enjay wrote:Wasn't it originally made for a console using a different engine and then ported across to the PC and Build at fairly short notice? If so, perhaps the conversion was rushed/incomplete?
Apart from that, I think some graphics were different but otherwise the PC version was just a straight port. It was never meant to be more than that, so no QoL improvements from its devs.

That is not true: the PC version was the one in development for the longest time, already announced all the way back in 1994 I believe, under the title Ruins: Return of the Gods. The console version is a completely different game that was developed later, even though both versions were released at around the same time. And also, as haphazard as the PC version feels, the console version isn't actually much better, and is in fact severely lacking in terms of features compared to the PC version. Really, apart from sharing the same name and most of the graphics/sound effects, the PC and console versions of the game may as well be completely unrelated products.

Okay, I stand corrected then, must've been misinformed. The console version is indeed fairly different, the enemies have different sprites, the graphics are different, and the levels are also different. So much for the "port" part, this looks like its own thing. Honestly I like the way this looks and feels a lot more than the PC version.

WeaponSel_Prev/WeaponSel_Next is now implemented in master. WeaponSel_Alt isn't done but none of the weapons have an alternative mode anyway.
