This is another known issue.
The same effect can also be easily observed on voxels and sprites in SW on maps/parts of the maps that use fog. The easiest example for this is the boss level of the base game.

Fixed.
What I found equally annoying is that the fog is not really a sector property but a texture property! That fucks up all the weapon hit and blood sprites on that foggy ship. But that looks like a design issue and not an engine bug.
