[Duke3D] Rebout Texture Upscale Pack (DL link in post)

Post by Phredreeke »

I packaged the backgrounds with my previous upscale pack here https://www.sendspace.com/file/mq44xp (sorry, no Nuclear Winter sprites!)

IMO it looks nice enough paired with those upscales.

If you want the pack with the (unmasked) Rebout-upscaled sprites it's here https://www.sendspace.com/file/ofnoso - I couldn't get a good enough result with those myself. Feel free to use these if you can figure out a better way to deal with transparency masks.

I upscaled some of the enemies, here's the liztroop

I can't get the sprite masks to look as good I'd like, and I already have way too many projects already so I'm releasing what I've got in case anyone wants to pick it up.

Included are
- opaque background textures, with a DEF to load them in-game.
- upscaled sprites and decorative objects, these have no transparency masks applied and have an additional 16 pixel border on each side. they are obviously not ready to be added in-game.
- palswapped strippers and liztroops. as with the above they have no transparency masks
- a nice little BAT script to generate DEF files from a folder of appropriately named images.
