  • Is the resource ENTIRELY my own work?

  • If no to the previous one, did I put a reasonable amount of work into the resource myself, such that the changes are noticeably different from the source that I could take credit for them?
If you answered no to all three, maybe you should consider taking your stuff somewhere other than the Resources forum.

Music Randomizer (per map)

Post by DBThanatos »

Ok, this could be considered a resource, since it's a working example of this, which I dont think has been done before.

I made this thing to add yet another random factor into AEoD: music. Taking as base my old AEoDmus.wad and adding more songs, I made this compilation of MIDI tunes to play with any set of maps. Is not Doom2 exclusive, works in doom1 and I think might work in just about any map around.

Simply put: a huge selection of songs I like in MIDI format. So, per map, it will select randomly one song of the bunch, and loop it for that level. Since there are quite a few songs, and because of the way is made, no song will be repeated in the same playthrough.

Anyway, I realize that the music selection probably wont fit anybody's taste here, because this was primarily made for me and my playthroughs, however this could be used as base for your own personal music randomizer, or whatever :P

Get it now, while the link is alive :P

Of course, source is included, and the script is a very small piece of code that can be easily adapted for less or more songs; gotta love MIDIs and their absurdly small file size.

Indeed, I love midis and their tiny size, and this randomizer sounds awesome. I'll probably autoload it whenever I play the iwads, and throw in a bunch of my midis, too.
