Description
Finally the circle closes. After working on Stronghold and still leading HPack it was about time for me to continue with The City of The Damned III. My teammates from TSoZD will now rip me apart if they see this, but sorry guys, this is already in development even long before Stronghold and right now I seem to have the right mood to continue working on this - especially mapping - since I have already gathered all the kinds of resources that I needed. So what are you going to get here? Since "Apocalypse" I already had the idea of creating something that is a mixture of Resident Evil, Silent Hill and Doom, something that combines elements from both universes into one, puzzles, tense atmosphere but also action-packed battles. I partially achieved with TCotD2 what I had dreamed of but it just wasn't perfectly what I had in mind. This will change now with the third and last installment of "The City of the Damned" which already has the meaningful subtitle "Conclusion". Expect an atmosphere that hasn't been seen in a Doom modification ever before, that's what I promise you.
Features
- 3D Models for monsters and decoration
- High-Res textures
- True Color effects, light and fog
- New Combat system (partially resembles the one from RE)
- ...and even more to come
There's quite a list of things that I need help with, I will post most of these here though and let you guys know about it. So, here are a few things that I can think of at the moment...
- Font Definition - http://forum.zdoom.org/viewtopic.php?f=19&t=24539
- Cornfield Texture - http://forum.zdoom.org/viewtopic.php?f=37&t=24510
- Blood Models - http://forum.zdoom.org/viewtopic.php?f=37&t=24553
As this is still in early mapping stages, I really would like to know what kind of ideas you have. What did you like about TCotD2 and what was terrible? Is there anything you want to have in the 3rd part of this series? Any ideas or anything on your wishlist? I want this last part to be the best one now, so any feedback is pretty much welcome. Other than that, keep your eyes open for even more progress information
