Re: UAC Nuclear Disposal Facility - a short tech base level
Here to give some constructive feedback once again. Custom resources seemed to be the main focus here, so I'll only talk about that aspect.
- I see you have a file that credits all of the textures/monsters that were used. It would be handy to transfer that info to this thread, as it provides a better first impression.
- All of the imported textures that should have animation to them do not have animation. The OTEX nukage texture is totally stagnant, as well as many of the computer monitor textures. Many texture packs will usually have special files called ANIMDEFS/ANIMATED for animations, and another called SWITCHES that will transfer the texture animations to your level.
- Some of the monsters used aren't playing certain sounds, like the blood demon doesn't make any noise when they walk or bite you, and the lesser mutant doesn't have any sounds at all. I checked the code, and some of the sounds are defined differently from DECORATE to the SNDINFO. For example "Sounds/seer" defined in DECORATE doesn't match the "lessermutant/seer" in the SNDINFO, so the sounds won't play. Definitely worth double checking for future levels using custom monsters.
- In the Blood Demon DECORATE file, the reason the walking sounds don't play is because DSBLDWAL is not enclosed in quotation marks.
