Sorry for the lack of formatting, BBCode is OFF for me (I'm guessing my account isn't active enough for that).
An abandoned but otherwise unremarkable spaceship lost in deep space. An unremarkable marine waking up from stasis. You shouldn't be here, there nothing left to guard, defend or sav. But they shouldn't be there neither. And you don't want to die

Please enjoy my first Doom map featuring new textures and sector lightning galore.
Playtime should be 10-15min based on play-troughs posted on YouTube.
Difficulty is not implemented. Target skill is UV, hopefully a fair challenge but not extremely hard.
Freelook, crouching and jumping aren't needed but they shouldn't break anything neither.
The MAP format is UDMF and it's made for GZDoom. Bloom, and ambient occlusion recommended.
Last test tested on GZDoom 4.11

Textures aren't mine, they are from https://little-martian.itch.io/retro-texture-pack which was free back when I started working on this but isn't anymore (I bought it).
Music is E1M2 (Dread Factory) by MFG38 from Ultimate MIDI Pack.

Re: Dreary Hauler (a Doom2 short sci-fi themed map)
Oh, wow. That wasn't a joke. I usually pack flashlight++ for all of my playthroughs but this time turning it on murdered my framerate because there are so many sectors

I liked relatively low monster count and that most of the monsters are low tier enemies.
I liked lack of plasma/rocket launcher/BFG or SSG even because it made last encounter more tense.
If you're planning a bugfix release here's what I've noticed:
- Many doors' doortrack texture moves with the door. Not all of them but a noticeable amount.
- One of the monitor textures is misaligned in the least encounter area: -nomonsters +map map01 +warp 1382 0

There is actually a SSG in a secret...

Thanks for the feedbacks. I uploaded a new version which should fix those.

Re: Dreary Hauler (a Doom2 short sci-fi themed map)
This is a really nice little map - exactly the kind of map that I enjoy. I'm an absolute sucker for sci-fi/techy maps and this is really ticks the boxes for me. Of particular note is the interesting techy sounds - they are refreshingly different from the ones normally used in Doom maps.
I personally have a pathological hatred for archviles, and they tarnish my experience in almost every map I see them in. That, of course, is just a personal gripe. Aside from that though, I really, really liked this map.

Hopefully, my archvile encounters were pleasant enough to not ruin the map. While they are mandatory, I try to make them just enough to spice things up without being painful.

Re: Dreary Hauler (a Doom2 short sci-fi themed map)
Yeah, as archvile encounters go, they were OK (IMO, of course). The archies were either in a restricted place, somewhere where there was plenty of cover, or not surrounded by hordes of high-powered enemies to resurrect.
That being said, I thought the map did a really good job of utilising lower-tier enemies and it was populated with them appropriately. So the archies kind of stuck out as an anomalously tough enemy versus the rest of the bestiary, especially the first encounter which was quite early on and, other than the enemies involved, had no particular build-up, didn't feel like the place for a mini-boss fight and didn't have much follow-through because we then went back to lower-tier enemies again. So, pacing-wise, I thought it stuck out and felt a bit weird.
However, that is, perhaps, all over-analysing the situation. I want to stress that my impression of the map generally is hugely positive. I really liked it and I've played it a few times already.

An enjoyable map, lots of close tight fighting.
I liked lack of plasma/rocket launcher/BFG or SSG even because it made last encounter more tense.
