Texture packs for commercial use?

Post by buxomdev »

Hello. I was wondering if anyone knew of any texture packs that are cleared for commercial use? I don't mind if I have to pay for or attribute them. I'm particularly in need of gothic/spooky textures for an upcoming Halloween project.

Of the few Doom texture packs which don't include modified Doom (or other game) textures, I think the only one which specifically allows free commercial use is Junkcity: https://www.doomworld.com/idgames/graphics/junkcity

Aquatex by the same author doesn't forbid commercial use, so that should be fine too: https://www.doomworld.com/forum/topic/7 ... ture-pack/

Another which allows commercial use is ComTex, although this does require a fee: https://www.doomworld.com/forum/topic/1 ... ture-pack/

Of course, you could always look beyond the Doom community, and perhaps convert a pack designed for another game to Doom format.

Freedoom's content allows commercial use. (It includes Aquatex, by the way.)

Where does it say anything about the fee? Can't seem to find this info...

The second to last paragraph in the first post:
You may not SELL this package, in any way shape or form. if you wish to use the texture pack for you game, you'll need to pay a fee.
