Project Slipgate: Remastered Edition is an enhanced, restructured mod of the original Slipgate that was created over 10 years ago. This new enhanced version is built using more modern tools that takes full advantage of the capabilities of GZDoom. Some of the many features in this remastered edition include: Decorate effects to enhance the environment and gameplay, 2k and 4k textures support, 3D structures, sloped environments, high quality sound and music, and various other gameplay mechanics to bring Slipgate into a much better vision than what was created in the original mod.
This mod was tested and verified to work fully with only GZDoom's latest version. Other source engines may work, but expect various graphic glitches, missing and or incorrect effects, or maybe a crash or two.
Glad to see you're still working on Doom mods, gunrock! I remember playing slipgate and especially dissolution of eternity many years ago, so I look forward to giving this a try.
I had a chance to play through this last night and I wanted to leave my thoughts on the demo before I go to bed tonight.
Despite the file size, I mostly enjoyed it. Level designed was, to me, at just the right amount of detail that it didn't hinder mobility. The fights were tough but fair for the most part. I wasn't a fan of the use of stealth monsters though. Granted, I haven't been a fan of stealth monsters since their inception. I'd personally rather see stealth monsters replaced with a small group of monsters or even a Decorate monster.
There was also one part in I believe level 3 where you had to wait an exceptionally long time after hitting a switch before the doors reopen and the player can progress. I thought maybe more monsters other than the stealth Arch-Vile were meant to spawn in during that. I almost restarted the level because I thought something might have broke in that room. In any event, I felt like the wait time could be much smaller though that would mean possibly cutting the sound file that plays during the player's occupation of that room.
In any event, I'm looking forward to the full release. (:
I've just gone through the 2001 Original and the 2021 Remastered Edition Demo. No worse, if not better, "Dimension of the Boomed"!
I have a question: "And the rest of the Levels will be completed?" Already in 2023 there is no news about the development. Or do you want to say that 4 Levels is the Final?
